• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

man sorry about your luck. i say just put the stock tune and components on another good block, get that working good then put the mods back on if you even want at that point.

I say you man up Build a solid block no more used block bs and get it back on the road
Thats just me though I know if it was my engine id be close to losing my mind but could never let the car win

well the pressure relief valve idea is shot, it didnt stick at all, it moved freely in the bore.

WHen you removed and installed your cam it probably distorted the main bearing journals.I have seen this happen numerous times with lt1 blocks with mileage in excess of 130k in which the cam was swapped out for a more aggressive one. In the lt1s you almost always need to rebuild the bottom end to ensure it doesnt give up the ghost due to bearing distortion but then again the 3800's may be a different story.:th_thumbsup-wink:

This makes no sense to me. The unfortunate thing here is, that motor was probably hurt before you bought it.

well, there is one good thing about this: you know how to pull that motor in and out of the car in about an hour.

I'm willing to bet less time than that.

This is a crime against Korey being committed by every 3800 he's touched cept mine.

between all of us with motor issues in the past few months or so.... there will be NO MORE used motors on the market in the near future if **** keeps goin like this.

No people keep wrecking their cars and putting more engines in the junk yard. About 6 people have wrecked recently and about 4-5 engines blew.

You should have checked the blinker fluid before you started it up......Now your transmodulator has a broken cog wheel and your sprocket shaft has a bent o ring....

Seriously dude, two words..
FORGED PISTONS!!
Man that really sucks though, thats the bad thing about used motors. You never know what you are getting unless you tear it down and rebuild it. I do understand wanting to save money, though it may be cheaper to go ahead and build it instead of buying another used engine and risking this happening again.

Good luck,
James
