Ignition Timing off on my Overkill?

I hooked up the Autotap earlier today to read what my Ignition Timing is. I know stock is 15.5 to 16.5 butit should be set to about 19 to 20 at WOT when tuned. My timing locked in at 17 at WOT. I did 3 WOT runs from different speeds and everytime it locked into 17. At idle the car would lock into 20 though.

When I gave Will at Overkill my mod list I told him I would have my mods in my sig plus a front plog and 3.5" pulley. I thought I sent him the updated list but I had forgot. So my car should be running a little rich right now but its not too much to worry about.

I also know that every degree your timing is off you lose about 5-8hp. So am I back 3 degrees of timing from 20 so I'm losing like 15-24hp?

KR was 0 through the whole powerband starting at any speed.

I'm just getting into messing with this Autotap, so bare with me. Thanks.

I gotcha. But I have 0 KR and an overkill pcm. I thought the timing would have been raised up to 20 instead of 17.

You will make more power with 17* and no kr than 20* and 3* of kr.

Just because you see me running 25* of timing doesn't mean you can run the same.

So is that what I should be at? 17? With the mods in my sig plus zero KR, is that what the what it should be at for a "tuned" pcm?

Gotcha. Damn I wish I could bump this up a notch and see what happens. Now I see why you guys tune yourself!

That's where it should be with one of our PCMs.

Each degree of timing up from 17* of advance, in our experience on the dyno, is worth around 1-2 whp.

You'll gain much more than that from upping your boost if you're running less than 12psi and have zero KR. Since you're on a stock pulley right now correct? You'll see big gains once you drop pulley size.

Pushing too much timing advance on pump gas is also something we try to avoid, incase you run into poor gas quality. 17* versus 20* of timing advance may save your motor that one day you fill up with a bad tank of gas.

Yea so what your saying Will is my car is screaming for a pulley. I know I know. Once I get back from PA next week I plan to get a front plog and 3.6 MPS.
