Ignition not turning

:(I have a pontiac Grand Prix and the ignition wont turn! i put my key in and its locked up. please help!
 


Make sure the car is in Park if not already.

If you have small hands, there is a release button just below where you put the key in. Once you push this button, it will let you take the key out. There was a diagram explaining this but I can't find it right now... its just a button you reach up underneath and have just enough room to press it with your fingers.

the key is not stuck and the car is in park. i cant put it in and take it out. its just when i put my key in and try to start my car. doesnt turn at all.

It could be the switch that tells the car is in park is faulting out or broke, or your contacts in the ignition are dirty. Try moving the car from park to 1st a couple times and see if that helps???
 
you dont have the steering wheel locked do you? because if you do, just shake the wheel a little and turn the key at the same time
