Alright, my 99 gt is hurtin a bit. I entered the interstate and it was hoppin, engine light flashed and then went solid. I checked everything and it was running good. Got home and scanned it. Cylinder 5 misfired. I changed the spark wires and the coil pack for 5 and 2, cleared the codes, and now it is running worse. Did I maybe crack the spark plugs or would it be the new coil pack and the two old ones combined that make it run bad?
 


having a new coil pack and 2 old ones wont do any harm, as long they all work, they do the same thing.

id pull the plugs and see what they look like and might aswell change them.
 
alright, I just changed them about 500 miles or so ago but one of the plugs went on hard. And I got silicone for the wires and used that like the directions said but I have never heard of any silicone for those. It is supposed to help the wire from sticking onto the plug itself. Would that do some harm then to? And I am checking the plugs tomorow for sure to.
 


misfire could be a faulty injector too. how many miles do you have on there and have the injectors been replaced before?
