Ignition getting stuck again

vertebrate

I was having a problem with my 2000 GTP where the key would come out in the ACC position and not turn to OFF. I replaced the ignition switch about a month ago, and that seemed to fix things. Yesterday it happened again though. The screwdriver in the column worked to get it to turn off, but obviously I want to get things fixed.

Where should I look next? Should I look at the lock cylinder itself? I think I also read something before about it maybe being something to do with the shifter sensor not knowing the shifter is in park?

Thanks,
Steve

take the bottom part of the steering column off find the button on the park lock solenoid and wrap it in tape youll never have a problem with the key not coming out again

I had the dealer bypass mine and have had no issues. Car can be shut off while in gear now, but that's it.

yep, this is what i did. thats all you need to do man, no sense spending all kinds of money trying to fix it. ive had it this way for like 3 years, and i have never (as the dealer put it) accidentally turned it off while driving, or any of that nonsense.
