if i was saleing a 98 gtp cheap! what to do?

i have a 98 gtp 4 door with 3.4 pully and eibachs and 134,000 mi.
i kinda want to ditch it cuz it over heats, and i think it a head gasket, maybe a water pump or heater core.
car needs 4 tires
and a ignition switch needs to be replaced.
high book on car is 4600
privat party is 3200
and i have some one that want to pay 1500
what do you guys think?
 


I'd fix it and keep driving it, but that's just me. Overheating is probably a T-stat problem. Four new all season tires are around $700. Water pump is $60 and two hours of your time.
Or you could sell it and buy someone else's problems....
 
i just sold my bolt on rockered 3.4 GT for $1000 with extra parts. if it werent broke id have wanted $3k.
 
replaced thermestat already, water pump doesnt leak but doesnt seem to be strong either so...idk i think its a head gasket< any one else here of head gaskets going bad round 130k?
 
head gaskets dont go bad often and the only way youd notice is a bunch of coolant leaking into the oil.
 


First off..."If I were SELLING"

Second, the blades on the water pump will corrode and cause overheating issues. Also check hoses, as they age and get soft they can collapse under load restricting coolant flow and overheating issues.

Third, you can get all season tires for MUCH LESS than $700

Keep the car and save yourself a car payment.
 
i agree with every statement supercharged just said lol funny how you say all that cuz im in AC class RIGHT now and we talked about how fans on the water pump corrode and get nasty and can cause issues also i worked for NTB i am a tire guru lol and yes 700 is steep... depends on the quality and brand and where you get it done at.
 
yea, 700 is ALOT for tires, I wouldnt pay a dime over 500.. there are PLENTY of "discounted tire" websites that sell tires for about 100 shipped each, and then mount/balance is around 100.
