I'm gonna replace my bcm Ive been having some problems with electronic stuff inside my car and I'm also Gonna replace my blower resistor . I read on here that it could be my ignition but idk I was thinking about it last night and I realized that my key pops right out when car is running
So what should I replace ?
Should so A lil bit better

The reason why Ive started this thread is cause I'm having problems with the in side of my car and everything acting funny
A guy told me that it could be my bcm
Another guy told me it was the blower resistor cause he had one do the same thing an it was that
A website and gpf said it could those 2 and my ignition

Please be more specific if you want answers.

A symptom list would be ideal.

If your blower doesn't work on one or more speeds probably your resistor.

If it doesnt work at all could be your igniton switch you'll need a multi meter to test the voltage at the switch. It involves removing the knee panel.

Rarely do I see BCMs go bad in the pre 03 grand prixs. That would be the very last thing I'd replace..

My car is a 97
My car only works on high speed and when I turn it on my headlights turn off and my d.I.c turns off
And now when I turn my fogs on my radio turns off

Okay its simple. Your resistor is bad, 1 or more settings go bad..your high is a seperate relay built into the resistor thud why it works on just that setting... But your igniton switch is also bad.. Sounds like under load your accessory is dropping out. It's common and doesn't take too long to change either.

I can assure you it is definitely not your bcm.

Whew that was mess, I was waiting for someone get out there Captain Video decoder ring and figure out what he needed thanks rperry435 let me guess you are in the army in charge of encryption

I would also like to note you aren't supposed to be able to pull out the key BUT that will not effect its operation...
the ignition switch is the back portion of the key cylinder and when changing it the key portion won't be changed so even with the new ignition switch the key will still pull out. I just wouldn't worry about the key coming out. lol
