Identification tag location

Hello everyone. This is my first post on this forum. I just purchaced a 2000 Grand Prix for my daughter. Everything works like it should, except for the transmission. I knew about the trans problem when I bought it and that's why I got it so cheap. The salvage yards are wanting to know if the metal tag has a BCB or BRB stamped on it. I can't seem to find this tag. can someone tell me where to locate this tag? It's a 2000 SE. It won't shift into 4th gear and I have to start out in 1st gear and manually change into 2nd and 3rd gears. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the help. After putting the car on the lift, it was easy to find. Is there anything I should do to this replacement transmission before I install it? I'm kinda new to the FWD world. For the last 20 years, my daily driver has been a '48 Ford F-1. I rebuilt and installed a C-6 into my F-1 about 15 years ago and it hasn't given me any trouble. Wish they still made transmissions like that.

Except that would send metal shavings into the filter.

Any pre 2004 transmission IMO should automatically get a new PCS/EPC (presssure control/electronic pressure different names for 1 part.) soleniod, 4th clutch hub shaft (2003 late production saw a hardened version which is now standard) and the channel plate gaskets would be required to swap that shaft and a transgo shift kit. These are automatic items that should be done if the trans is unknown or not recently rebuilt.

Guess I need to figure out where to source all of these parts. I won't be pulling the trans out until this weekend, so I have a couple of days to get everything together. Any suggestions on parts sources?
