I received a Dex Cool Settlement check

Hey guys I just wanted to ask a question about the Dex Cool class action law siut. Im not sure if this is the right place for it...so if it is in the wrong place can the administrators please put it in the right place. Anyway. I had to replace my intake manifold gasket (i think) last year. Afterwards I found out about this class action law suit against Dex Cool stating that I may be eligble for a refund of some of my money. If I remember correctly it cost me about $1100 to get it all fix, I think I may have had some other things done too I cant remember. Well low and behold yesterday I get a check for $400 from Dex Cool. But of course it says that "...By cashing or deposit this settlement check you are releasing General Motors from any and all claims related to this vehicle for which the claim was submitted, to the extent that such claims relate to Dex Cool, engine gaskets or engine sealability issue."

Has anyone else received this stettlement check? Or is anyone even included in the law suit?

Another problem that I am having now is that I have an antifreeze leak on my car again now. I have no idea where it is comming from. Should I get it fixed first before cashing the check or just cash it and move on. I think I should take it to my mechanic who did the work last year and have him look at it first. I hate this legal crap.

^^^Agreed. Take the money and fix the leak with that money. I have read of another person who got the same thing. Take it before GM is out of money.
 
Where did you go to get this settlement check. My car has a leak and i have all the parts to fix it already. A check would be nice since it's their problem that caused it.
 




I cant remember where I got the actual paperwork to file. But I will look it up and post in the AM. The check has been deposited in savings and now Im just hoping that GM has eneough cash to allow the check to clear. lol
 
the guy I bought the car from had all the "info" about when he had the repair done. However I think he had a shop write up a fake receipt and got reimbursed by GM and then sold the car to me.

Car had roof rails too when I looked at it. I didn't realize until after I paid that they were not there.
