i have to fix mine, ricekrispies are starting to piss me off. leaking pace****ters, no cat, no res and slp muffs. I heard a slp'd car (me driving behind) they sound pretty good with a res.

Doesn't bluegtp have a write-up somewhere on how to fix the pace****ters?
A res would help, a small hole in mine made mine rasp even with stock muffs until I got my new one.

yeah i was looking into that, i still don't understand how i would go about removing the rear manifold if its welded to the crossover and collector

DO NOT pay $700 for a stock catback.
You can get one at the yard for like 100 bucks and if you can't install it yourself midas will do it for like 80 bucks.

Unless you want the check engine light on all the time, I would not remove the cat. converter. I would suggest either putting on an aftermarket muffler - whatever brand you like - or what I would do is put the shell of the muffer on (fake muffler - all the looks of a muffler, loud as hell).

Here's how I would do it:
Take off exsisting muffler - cut it in half (length/width along the seam)
Pull out all the stuff inside the muffler
Weld the two pieces back together
Weld muffler back in place

Just an idea. Maybe you want something a little quieter.

I deleted the cat, res, and u-bend and put thrust turbo mufflers on there.. it was loud and raspy at high rpms when idling. It was also obnoxious at around town speeds... It only sounded good on the highway...

I since have added a Thrust glasspack in place where the res was and I love it. Its got a deep tone but not annoying and most of the raspiness is gone.

Thrust Glasspack -$20
Thrust Turbo Muffler - $30 x 2
2.25" Straight pipe - $30
Sparkplug anti-fouler - to mount the o2 sensor in and not get a check engine light - $5

wow, really guy? if you dont know how to remove the cat without setting an SES light then you dont know how to mod a car.

my flowmaster 40 series with dual rolled tips sounds really good in the low to midrange rpms... deep with little rasp.

Everything stock after the Ubend flows fine right? Seeing as these cars sound like dirty butthole most of the time why not just spend the money to port your S/C and just make that louder? What I like most about that is... You have stealth mode until you mash your foot into it. Can't turn off a loud exhaust.

thats what my car was like. i had a headers, high flow cat, into the stock catback (including the resonator). it was quiet pretty much all the time, even when i got on the throttle pretty heavily and all i heard was sweet blower whine.

the stock catback will pick you up a few extra horses if you drop it off when youre in the 300+ whp area, but i always thought that couple of horsepower was better lost than having to listen to the disgusting 3800 sound.

i like bluegtps exhaust but i dont have that kind of money
anyone got a sound clip for my car with a cat delete and magnaflow mufflers

I have run a full cat back magnaflow performance exhaust on my 00 GTP . It sounds great and it's not too much like some of them V6's you hear out there. Depends where you buy but around 800.00us
