I have an 02 gp se and i have custom housings for my lights and im upgrading my lights to HID. But before I do this i would like to shut off the low beams and be able to control them instead of having them turn on whenever the car is on. I want the headlight still on because I want the halos and parking lights to show, just not the low beam! (I have tried take the DRL fuse out, the chimes go nuts! haha

Thanks for the help guys! Bronco Boy, i looked at the DRL bypass and can i just cut that blue wire and it will shut off my day time low beams? Cause I want my headlights stillon during the day and night just not my low beams, I want to be able to control my low beams

You should have just pulled the connector to the DRL heatsink behind the drivers side dash. That would have disabled the DRL's. If you wanted manual control of the headlights, you could have just put a resistor on the photo sensor in the dash.

Headlamp Control

but what i wanted was to be able to control my halos and my low beams, i wanted my halos to come on when i started my gp and be able to turn my low beams on and off instead of them just coming on

Well you could route the DRL's to the halo's. Same concept as this just to the halo's instead of the fog lamp switch.
Isn't the DRL circuit low voltage?

I would just wire up a relay, ignition controlled, and hook it up to the halo's. If the DRL is not low voltage, then hook the blue wire you cut to the halo's.

I know on a 2000 the drls are a lower voltage but i cant speak for the rest of them but id assume they are the same as mine.
