word of advice... ive never waited for a call for a job ive always called back. its my experience that most jobs never call you back. i always pester them until they interview me. it shows them that you really want to work there. just my opinion.

Yeah....... I was asked by a friend if I wanted to work at his work and I said yes, handed in my app, got a call the next day...

Handing in your app is pointless. You need to talk to the managers and ask them straight up, are you hiring. Most will say "we're always accepting applications" which means no.

If you do find they say yes, do your best to talk to the manager about the job and your willingness to work.

Then call back and speak to the human resources "person" and mention that conversation.

if that convo went well and you keep pestering whoever does the hiring, then they should give you an interview if and only if they are indeed looking for people.

At my work we're looking for a shuttle driver, thats it... yet we have people come in and spend 20 mins filling out our overly long application which if it ever makes it upstairs (which most of them don't) it will sit in a stack which no one will ever touch.

In short, you must either be very persistent and get along with whomever you speak to or know someone.

yea i usually do try to talk to managers and the conversations i have with them always seem to go well, the place i went into today ill call in a day or two asking if they've had a chance to review my application and try to get an interveiw out of it. my gf has a job and i dont how bad is that. and shes a year younger than me... pathetic

well yea shes hot if not i wouldnt be dating her lol
and also yes i think her friends cousins mom was the manager or something. either way i know alot of ppl apparently none of the right ppl

i'm horrible at saving money. if i lost my job i would be so effed. i spend money right before i get it. its sad really.
