• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I have no idea what is going on!!!!!

OK i installed my strut tower braces and i messed around and put the cone filter on the the TB just to play around a couple minutes. The Service Engine light came on and i hooked everything back up. Took it too autozone told me the code it turned off a lil while later that day.

Then later my high beam light was dimly illuminated and the hibbeam light in the HUD flickered, it later stopped.

Today the service engine light came on again(car is running like it always has) i take to autozone i got the intake air temprature sensor code(P0113)like before when i disconnected to run play around with open cone and said another one (P0440) guy said most likely just dirt around cap that lost suction.

I checked the gas cap and long behold i forgot to click it all the way in. I tightened the cap and mad sure the IAT sensor was clean and clear and the light is still on. Any help? Im hoping its not a vacuum line which is one of the probs but the car is still running fine so i doubt it. And have no idea about that flickering light?!?!?!?!?

what did you clean the IAT with? Did you pinch the wires by chance? Do you have the IAT sensor just sitting beside the intake or into the intake?

i just pretty much blew it off and it worked. And the intake i made i used the stock rubber house and used a 3 inch PVC and it apparently slides perfectly pass all those ridges and stops an inch or so before the sensor. So it is pretty much in its stock position.

Any idea on the light flicker or other code?

A code P0440 could mean one or more of the following has happened:
  • The gas cap is not installed or working properly
  • The purge solenoid has failed
  • The canister is plugged and not working properly

Yea thats what the slip i got from autozone said and i saw my gas cap wasnt on all the way any chance it will just take a while longer to clear?

Yes it probobly takes like 5 cold starts. You could unhook the battery for about 3 hours and then rehook it up to clear it

Most likely a failing purge solenoid, but it's just to hard to pin point the issue with out doing a bit of diagnostics to the evap system.

I let it sit with the battery unplugged for 3 hours last night and it has been okay so far. We will see how it fairs after a few more miles. Praying it stays off.

All you needed to do was reset the codes. Once putting the cap on all the way the problem is solved. Just either would of waited 5 days for it to clear it self or do what you did.
