I Have KR, will Rockers help?

Sudden

New member
I tested my car for boost and KR and I have about 10.8 boost and as much as 6.8KR. I've been buying the parts to put rockers on. I have springs, retainers, etc. I have everything but the rockers. I'd planned to get Yella Terra 1.9s. With my current modes will that solve my problems?

Re: I have NR, rockers help?

Don't you mean 1.9's? I'd also say get headers vs. your DP/PLOG...and a custom tune...because I bet ZZP's PCM isn't cutting it.

I wanted to avoid headers if possible. I wanted to delay a custom tune until I got a few more mods. I'm out here in slower/lower Delaware and can't get a tune locally. I've been thinking I may have to do headers but I'd want to get something that won't change the drivability of my car. It's like a daily driver.

BillBoost is close to you...I can't remember if he tunes or not but if he doesn't I bet he knows someone that does. And how to headers change the driveability of it? If anything the headers will help because they will shift the power band higher and make it easier to drive around town.

How about noise from headers inside the car? Care to comment on brands?

Shouldn't knock that hard on those mods. As much as I want to blame your PCM I've seen folks complain about the ZZP tunes plenty), I'd say to double check after you put in fresh spark plugs and clean your MAF. Also, not seeing any intake work in your sig, so throw on a 9" filter if you haven't already.

Leave your stock catback and it won't be an issue...

This...factory exhaust is quiet and is good for 350 FWHP.

My car is loud...but its all overkill...I'd say get some catless Speed Daddy headers...with the stock catback it is still very quiet.

X2 on the open cone.

Also...clean your throttle body if you haven't. Free stuff rules...try flipping the dog bone mounts too so it eliminates movement...amybe something is making contact under load.

Wrap the headers before you put them in... you WILL notice them inside the car, even with the stock catback. It's not awful but it does get annoying. Wrapping them solves this issue.

BillBoost lives in Enfield, CT. I know this because he lives 20 minutes from me and has worked on my car several times.

A six hour drive. Thanks for all this great information. The plugs don't have but about 2000 miles on them. I found a thread on flipping the dog bones. I started to do that once. Couldn't get them to turn easily and was afraid i'd tear them. Where's there a thread on cleaning the maf and tb?

It's so easy there doesn't need to be a thread. Remove a few bolt, take off your TB. I cleaned my TB w/ carb cleaner. Then you MUST only clean your MAF with ONLY MAF cleaner.

If anything headers made my car more of a DD. Car drives much better and doesn't feel like a slug. Heck if you bought SD's that would almost cost the same as a good DP and plog(if not cheaper).

Cleaned the TB and MAF. Installed a Wizaired. Knock is all but gone. I see less than one right around the shift. I have a 3.5 pulley ready to go on.

I didn't want headers but I changed my mind. That will be my next upgrade. I've been looking around my area for someone that can tune it. So far the closest good guy in is CT. I live in lower DE so I was hoping Baltimore, DC area, VA, Philly, someplace less than 4 hours away :)
