anybody that live here in chicago probably knew about the pot holes we have every single winters. this year i think it's probably the worst since i lived here. anyway back to the topic. about 2 months ago i asked my friend if i can used his mother's hyundai accent for work until i can find a beater. he asked her and she said yes. i gave him $100 for letting me used it. before i left we agreed on whatever i f$ck up i have have to fix it. as i was driving home in the dark street on north ave, there was a huge ass pot hole in the middle of the road. i tried to avoid it, but it was too late. i drove right in the hole, i stopped to check on the tire, but it looks fine. a couple of weeks went by and the car was driving funny. it kept pulling to the left side. i finally got me a beater and return the car to him. he called back the next day and said i messed up his mom's car big time! i told him about the pot hole incident. he said he will take to his mechanic and call me back. he called me last weekend and said it cost him $900 to get it fixed:th_crying1::th_crying1:. here's what the damages he said: bend A frame, the side wall of the tire was damage, alignment was off, and something about the bearing in the tranny was mess up. he said just give him $500 when ever and we call it even.:th_crying1::th_crying1:. i'm going to pay him as i promised it just the fact that i hate paying for for something that don't belong to me. i'm done venting.:th_crying1::th_crying1:

yes I hear ya!!! I had my nice stock GTP wheels on my GT with new tires. hit something in the road, ended up blowing out my right side(not sure if it was pot hole, or curb). but needless to say new inner tie rod end, outter, and alignment.

bent GTP wheel that is now missing the lip.

road in chicago suck this time of year.

OHHHHH One thing I DO NOT miss about living in Buffalo was he dang potholes. I have many stories of alignment issues, ball joints going bad prematurely, busted belts in the tires, etc etc. Then to place salt in the wound is when the weather turns nice, you get the car all nice and clean. So happens to be on that same day he road crews patch the potholes and now you have sticky tar/pavement chunks flung all over your car arrrgggghhh!
I feel for you and once again i dont miss winter and the havoc is places on vehicles.

yeah... the potholes have been extaordinarily bad in chicagoland this year... though in some cases, people dont help. i remember a week or so ago, in the really cold spell we had, at one point on one expressway, there were 12 vehicles that were on the shoulder because they hit a pothole and blew out a tire. (the same pothole, all were on the shoulder at the same time) you'd think that at least by #5 that the others would notice......

Sounds like home.
Oklahoma is a mess. You get to know when to swerve. Then, 5 years later, they patch the street, and your still used to swerving.
I'm not sure if I spelled that right. I dont really care:)

We hit a pot hole and it blew out our tire and bent the wheel. We called the police to make a report. We thought the city should fix our stuff and fill the hole. The cop was a di@k. We took our wheel to Tulsa(Dino's) to try and have it fixed. It was unrepairable. The City of Enid said they weren't at fault so they wouldn't do anything. They said that we drove off the road and hit a hole.
They patched the hole less than a week later.

we had something similar happen when I was still in school, neighbor blew a tire, and the township (I lived in BFE) said they went off road, they took pics when it happened, and called a lawyer, got a full set of tires for that car, and aligned for the $50 the lawyer charged

I went to Enid one weekend when I was in high school for an RC race. We got harassed by one of the cops because he though we were too young to be out after midnight.
