My car is equipped with the dual zone HVAC system. The passenger side blows cool air in the A/C mode and the drivers side blows warm air. How is this issue repaired. I have done the following. I have also noticed the volume of air is much less than when new. I also have noticed that the digital thermometer reads 68 or less when it is HOT as Hati outside.

1) verified that the AC compressor is actually working - it is
2) verified Gas levels and head pressure.
3) revomed Glove box liner and verified the damper is moving - I think it works - I do see movement in the recirculator damper
4) Fan is running like a top

Help is most appreciated.
 


Wish I was replying with an answer but I actually have the same symptoms with the warmer driver air and cooler passenger air. Any ideas?
 
I took it to the shop for repair. It turned out that the high pressure service valve was leaking causing low freon levels. The shop replaced the service valve added freon and the problem went away. Since it is a dual zone system there are 2 coils. The freon lost its affect before it got to the drives side.

I also changed the cabin filter which improved the amount of air passing through the system.

This is per the mechanic that fixed it after 150 buck. :th_lipssealed1:

Now it need to know where the ambient air temp sensor is located. I have the replacement part but no idea where to look.
 


i curently have a 99 gtp and it will do the same thing but only when the freon level gets low (Leaking a/c compresspor on my car). if your talking about the outside ambient temp sensor. its located behind the front bumper

This fixed my problem too. Warm air on drivers side. Had it charged up they found the valve leaking. They replaced the valve filled it up works great. I would start with having it checked before you replace anything.
