HV3 install Question

Ok, I've been looking into my HV3 install, I see that I have to unbolt the fuel rail and alternator to lift off the UIM. I read that while I have those off, I should replace the o-rings on the injectors. Do the injectors just lift out with the fuel rail, or do the o-rings sit between the fuel rail and the injectors?

Thanks for the help,
Kevin

I got mine out fine without removing the alternator. And I also didn't change the O-rings, I just inspected them and made sure I was careful putting them back in. No problems so far. Car is relatively low miles though... 45k on an 04 monte

The others posts are correct, but I’m throwing in my hat in ring.

The fuel rails, injectors and O-rings come out as a unit. However, I recommend get new O-rings. They are cheap and easy to replace so why not. BTW, I cut one of my O-rings during my HV3 install. :th_nervous:

The alternator can stay no reason at all to remove it.

Oh, and as a fair warning don’t believe the ZZP website for a second on the half an hour job quote. More like 2-3 hours for a first timer.

Well, it doesn't sound too bad then. I'll pick up some o-rings at O'reilly's probably then. So all I have to do then, is the following:

Unplug sensors (I believe 3 sensors are necessary)
unbolt fuel rail
lift fuel rail away
unbolt throttlebody
unbolt UIM
lift
install
replace gasket
replace injector o-rings

Correct me if i'm wrong.

Don't know why you have to remove the Throttle Body...should just have to remove the throttle cables...

It took me and a friend literally 30 mins to do the hv3 install...and it usually takes us a long ass time to do anything. i didnt replace my o-rings even though i probably should have. enjoy the awesome NA power, or what little of it there is :)

i noticed a big diff when i did my mods but i did hv3 plog and dp at the same time i whent from 16.7 stock 1/4mile to 15.4 with just the 3 mods then added l67 tb and poly mounts and got best time of 15.2 on stock pcm

Not to threadjack, but did you guys even notice a difference with the insert?

Yes, beyond noticeable in fact. My “new” GP had tons of low end power, but when passing people on the highway is was a dog. Especially with no skip shifts, it was double dog slow. The HV3 gives lots more passing power, and the low end still has more than enough punch. The only down side of the mod is paying $200 for a big piece of plastic and a seal. It is great mod, ZZP gets some stuff right.:th_thumbsup-wink: hehe

man i hope to god zzp still has these in february when i get my tax money back!! i noticed they dont sell the PLOG anymore

Ya...but you can buy headers just about the price of a PLOG now...and get way more power...just a little FYI ;)
