humming sound while driving

hi, I recently purchase a 98 gtp, 2dr, red in color, 130k for $2400. My wife did not approve:th_laugh-pointup: of it because it has 2 door and not 4. I bought it any way! The kids can ride in her car :th_laugh-lol2:.
One month later i have problems. i have a car thats now humming while driving and a wife that's annoying me that i purchased a sh*t box. please keep me from going insane!
The humming sound is coming from the front end. The hum stops when the vehicle comes to a stop. it sounds like a tire noise, but alittle louder! The transmission shifts fine. i replaced the left and right wheel bearing and that was not the problem.
i dont want to spend anymore money on trial and error. can anyone guide me. could it be the bearings in the differential? do they go bad? is it a cheap fix?

Rotate the tires and see if it follows. If you replaced both bearings, its obviously not those. Tire noises can be very loud, more so than you think.

Micro is not wrong but it's probably the wheel bearing turning the steering wheel slightly side to side while driving and see if it changes tone.

i replaced the wheel bearings and the noise did not go away. we got hammered with snow this weekend, so im going to rotate the tires later this week. i will keep you guys posted.

ok, problem solved! the tires mounted on the car were the wrong size. the last owner i assumed wanted to lower the car so he took the easy way out. installed on the car were 215/55/16 tires. i replaced them today with the factory dimension 225/60/16 and the humming noise went away. the car rode better also. i picked up some eibach springs today. i am going to order the kyb agx next week.

I'm having the same problem - just replaced both front wheel bearings and LCA's... I'm hoping it's just that I need to get an alignment as I believe I already have the correct tire dimensions.

Anyone care to comment if it's possibly the alignment or that they've solved it as such?... or other... worse possibilities?

It dont have to be the alignment. It can be bad tires, flat spot on tire. Rotate the tires before spending money on and alignment.
