You should still be able to see it. My windshield was replaced with a regular one and the only time i cant see is if its really bright out. Are you sure you have the dial for the brightness turned up? or that your hud is even working at all?
 
yes you could have hud issues, like all above have regural windshield but installed hud myself and is fine without adding tint or anything. is it a ghosting effect or the hud itself is going but likley its a photocell soilder contact point.
 
The HUD is working because if I look at it while outside of the car of if I slouch in the seat I can see it on and working, but if i'm sitting normal I cannot see it like its not adjusting. If I play with the settings it adjusts and it even goes into stealth mode and blacks out the dash. Could it just be the spring and if so what does that cost to fix? New to these cars and don't wanna mess anything up.
