Reading over these forums I have found out that the HUDs will fail because of heat from the sunlight. Low and behold I was looking down at my HUD unit and the plastic hole that is attatched to the spring is cracked and looks like it might break very soon. I would like to repair this if possible. Here are a few questions I have about doing this if anyone else has actually made a repair to their HUD. I have an 04 GP
First, how do you get to the HUD with minimal work? I really dont want to pull more panel than I have too.
When I get to the unit what would be the best way to approach this. I have heard about people drilling new holes. I could also apply some glue to strengthen the plastic but there is a chance that it will break when I get to it. So drilling a new hole might be better. Whats the best way to do this?
Any advice, options? I love the HUD and dont want it to get worse before I can make it better.
