HUD Color

Has anyone ever changed the color of the HUD? I love my HUD but my only complaint is that it lights up that horrid teal-ish color like this smiley :th_laugh-lol3:. I wanted to change the color to red like the rest of the interior lighting and my gauge pod lighting. Anyone ever figured out how? WTB link to write-ups. Thanks

someone has done it on another forum.. but its not an easy task. I say be glad your HUD works... since so many have to resolder the photo resistor cell again. (Mine needs to be redone).

How would you see a red hud during the day? unless it was super bright?

My brother did it in his 2000 gtp in orange/red. And now has other issues with his hud. My theory is. IF IT AINT BROKE, DONT FIX IT.
Trust me the older GP huds are not the most reliable, and if it works count your blessings.
Besides the newer hud's in my 07 GXP is much nicer with a ton more information.

No tach on the GXP. Just about everything else but.

I was curious to see what all was involved with changing the color. I can get a junkyard hud and fix the cold solder joint and try this out on it and save mine.

Honestly I think a ZR1 HUD would be *****in...it has a boost gauge in it.
