• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

HPTuners Advice Needed

How much is it per car on HPT

Go read up on HPT. Most V6 Gm's are 2 credits per vin or 4 credits per year. The GXP though, that's a few extra credits. Also if you spend 2 credits to unlock a vin, then decide to go for the year it costs you something like 3 more credits.

DHP is kinda like tuning with rocks. Until someone walks you through or you read through your eyes bleeding and then learn about the add on tools that others created to make it better, it's likely not going to make you feel like you spent money wisely.

Its just different... HPT does not label anything better or worse. You need no more walkthrough on DHP as you do with HPT... They are the same tables edited the same way with the same numbers... DHP software is sometimes a bit weird but after you realize you cant right click after you click on a cell, its instantly not weird anymore.

If you come across one, you send it to HPT and in as little as 5 minutes to about 12 hours, they send you a version that supports it

Litterally everything is supported in DHP.. no downtime.

The powertuner site (I hear it's currently down) is a good resource, if you can get answers.

The PT site sucks. You can get anything answered on clubgp the same day.

$100

I disagree. I've had the pt read a bin and say..."no effin way" many times. Then Scott...you showed me where you posted a zip of almost every good DHP bin. TMK there is one guy that ever asked for a 98 Intrigue unlocked. It's a tough bin to find if you don't know the guy. Between testing, adding in your zip pack and gathering, begging etc (Bonneville's are not all unlocked either) I have put together a bin file repository. It's on a forum called BonnevillePro.com and it's also handed off with all other stuff that I have to anyone that wants to download it from dropbox. Just toss me your email.

DHP has almost no description at all of what items are in the tuner, has no description of the DTC's as you got to disable etc. HPT, has both of those. If you know windows, HPT is easy to use. DHP, like you said, takes a bit of learning. I can't highlight and copy/paste into dhp as easily as HPT. I can though export and import, or drag entire sections. Some things are better...most I feel are not though.

Per car, most of the stuff we think about is 2 credits. Open up a year though to make things pay for themselves. A GXP year is 12 not 4.

So most cars cost $200 to tune each on HPT

Did you visit the site yet or read the recent posts?

Our cars and just about all others like a GTO, 98-02 F-body only take 2 credits to unlock the VIN, thats only 100 bucks.

When you buy the tuning software you get 8 credits, so you have 6 left after you unlock your car. You have the option to use more credits to unlock the whole year.

I see I see I have visited the site but everything's in credits not dollars but that makes sense now

There's another section that explains that credits are $50 each and that when you buy a tuners you get some credits.
