Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

HPTuners Advice Needed

Im considering getting HPTuners but I'm not sure if I should, I'm not the biggest computer wiz but I definitely can figure it out, I'm not looking to do to advance things with it just log data maybe edit a few things I.E. fan run on when key off, TC lock speed, delete rear O2 codes....stuff like that, should I get HPT? Is it really that hard to set up a gauge screen with RPMs, LTFTs, KR for data logging?

I know there's lots of good reads out there but you don't really know until you have it in front of you by then it's to late

also another big question, can I use it on more then one car? I have two and my friends could use tunes I'm not really sure how moving from car to car works, if I change computers can I just install it on a different lap top?

yeah it very user friendly, and you can use it on more then one car just have a buy separate credits for each car

Would I have to buy more credits if it was like two different Grand Prixs or two different camaros? Even then as long as the engines the same 3800, LS1 ect do I need separate credits?

I added a stock 1999 L67 .bin for you to load., in post #6
Just click the .bin file after you install HP, no its not timed...you can play with it

If your first inclination is that you shouldn't, maybe you shouldn't. We shouldn't be convincing you otherwise when it doesn't work out, we are the bad guys. ;)

Its not hard, but if you're not comfortable with playing around pc's and software, say like MS office Excel, then you might have an issue cause it's pretty much the same, but with bigger consequences. (blown engine, tranny)

You PAY to PLAY! Period... Each PCM you want to write to, will cost credits to unlock it!
:)

I won't blame you guys lol and no I am fine with playing around with those software programs, thank you ill check that out, if its the trial version can I tune cars/log data with it? I know that sounds stupid because its free but I'm just wondering

nada......you can do whatever with the 99.bin file just can't read or write, you would need the expensive real interface
Check it out ..not going to hurt anything

Ok cool I'm on my iPad right now so ill check it out a little later when I get home, but I can't log data just see live data on the free trial?

You can't see anything your car is doing.

You need to have the real thing to do anything with your personal car.

That demo shows you what the VCM Editor and VCM Scanner look like and pretty much all its functions. It has a few files that you can go through to figure out what is in each and how things can be changed.

Live data? you mean your car? NO........but the stock99.bin would give you a sketch of what yours might look like. I got it from Mr.Boost37 prolly when he read a 99 and saved it.
