HP tuners pro vs regualr version

Besides having the ability to record info without a laptop, and being able to connect a wideband directly to the interface, are there any huge benifits worth the extra 150?

And I can still connect a wideband to the standard version correct?

Has anyone had both and can compare differences?

Yea, you lose the ability to black box log without a pc, and you lose the inputs on the hpt box itself. You would just have to connect the wideband to a existing wire that the scanner already reads like EGR signal. You don't lose out on the scanner or anything else, just have to look through one of the hundreds of threads that tell you how to log through EGR etc.

ok cool that doesnt really sound like its worth an extra 150 bucks haha

Is that pretty much all that the pro version comes with?

This will be my first time tuning so im trying to figure out if i'd be wasting money, or if it would actually really benefit me.

I dont see a need for the pro. You arent going to running a tuning shop out of your house or anything.

And like fosho said you can log the wideband thru the EGR, but I would say most of us never even do that because a quick glance at the WB is all you need to do. Making a custom pid and getting it to work correctly can take time which most don't care to spend lol.

I have the standard HPT and it works great for what I need.

Takes time? A custom pid takes about 2 minutes, Cam... you sir are a slacker! (Mr. Hand: Fast Times at Ridgemont High)

I bought the pro based on a friends recommendation. I feel it's worth the extra money. Logging w/o the pc and the inputs are definately huge.

I also feel that the pro version is worth the money. Not only will it input 4 separate 0-5v sensors, it will also output a signal to control things like nitrous, meth injection, etc...
