The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
Hea, i am putting a new raido in my 96 grand prix se. do i need to take the whole dash out or do i just need to take out the center plastic piece that covers the raido?
just the dash cover, it just snaps off. not sure on the 5th gen if the cover goes around the radio or the guage cluster like in the 6th gen but then u will be able to see the bolts u need to remover the radio
that would be really frustrating if u were to do that then realize u didnt have to dismantle your car to install a radio! glad to see you are utilizing the forums well!
i tried to take out the dash cover last night and the bottom would'nt come out, and also i didnt want to force it out. does it just snap out or is there a screw? i have the 2 door modle.
well... i used a plier because i didnt have the right angle to get at them... needlenose will do the trick... then forget putting the screws back in when the project is done because it stays tight without them
yes, you need the funny "L" bent screwdriver, ir pickup a toolkit for car stereos, for $10-$20, I have a set that has a tiny ratchet that holds screwdriver bits
