How To Wire Halos In Projector Headlights

We don't have one of these lol. I have searched WICGP, ClubGP, North American Grand Prix Club and etc and I could not find any posts on how to wire these so I took my chances, and what do you know I got it right lol. So I made a write up when I did the 2nd light.

This is just how to connect them to your park lamps. The little light on the far end corner of your corner light. :th_lightbulb: So when you turn on your daytime running lights, your halos come on too =)

...it actually looks kinda neat imho...

Step 1.
If you haven't gotten around to taking out your stock Lamp, you have to take out all the bulbs from the old light and re-connect them into the new headlamp. So after you have that done, look at the Park Light connection. It's the smallest bulb out of all of them. The Brown is Positive and the Blue is Negative.

Step 2.

You want to cut these tires and re wire them together to place a connector on them. You have to do it to the Blue wire as well.((I don't know what the actual name of the connector is called.)) Be careful when you strip them because they are heated plastic coated instead of just ran through a plastic tube. So you have to get the wires as clean as possible.

In my opinion these are the best connectors for this. They aren't a big hassle or anything to deal with. But if you have your own style for it then go ahead =)

Now after you have the first wire cut, like I said u have to re wire it back together like this:

Now you want to take the two red wires for the Halos, and wire them together like you did with the Park light wires. You want to wire the two black ones together as well.

Step 3.
Once you have the wires all twisted together, it's time to cap them off with the connectors.

You can connect these anyway you want to. The connectors I have circled on the pictures aren't required to go on that certain wire, they can be vise versa just aslong as you have one slot and one insert connector so you can connect them.

Connect Black to Blue and Red to Brown. Make sure you wrap electrical tape arround the connections, this prevents them from touching, water getting on them and to help keep them together for some reason they should disconnect.

After that, go test your new lights =) You shouldn't have a problem with them not working. If your doing this in lots of sunlight its hard to see if the Halos are on.

any questions? Let me know =)

Do you have these wired so they will work with your DRL's?
Also do they shut off when you run your projectors?

DRLs? <-- Never heard or seen that term.
But no, they dont, they run with the projectors, for that i would run a seprate switch. Mine will turn on with my parking likes and my full headlights. But I can shut off my halos if I shut off my fog laps with it.

If you don't want them to blink, wire them to the brown and black wires going to the larger 3457 bulb (red to brown, black to black). You'll probably have to pull the wires out of the loom to get to them.

Anybody ever change the LED's in the Halo's? I want orange ones in mine. :D

Did a quick photoshop...

I, and a couple of other people, have tried taking the projectors apart. They're held by a much stronger sealant than the stock headlights, and the housing is very brittle. I don't know of anyone who's successfully gotten them apart without breaking the housing. Unfortunately, you'd have to get the housing apart to change out the LED's.

Has anyone heard of any sets of halos that are true "Plug-N-Play"? I have seen a set by Spyder Auto and they claim to be plug and play but i wanted someone to second that.

nevermind about the technique this is much simpler than it seemed. Now i still dont know what manufacturer of halos is best.

They are pretty much made by the same company some look a little different than the first models did but I think the halos are all the same.
Unless someone knows anything different then you might be making yourself crazy looking.
Find yourself the best deal and get em.
Mine came from spyderauto....what's their price right now.
I might have a better link for you if you have not ordered them yet.
