How to tighten petcock?

Ok, I have my coolant elbows, water pump, thermostat, LIM gasket, and plenum gasket replaced. I've let water run through the system for a little while, and now gonna run do a few fill/run/flush with just plain water....to get all the Dexcool out. I didn't have a problem getting the drain to open....but can't seem to get it to seal tight again. Just push the petcock in and then turn 1/4 clockwise? I might have broken it as it seems to just keep turning. Thanks!

Not sure about the 1/4 turn? My 2006 has a threaded plug, I just reach down from the top put a 19mm socket on it and tighten

Yeah, this is on a '00 and it opens or turns with a 1/4 drive rachet in the the center of the plug. On the '00 its almost impossible to reach from the top. Easiest access is with the car lifted.

I broke mine when i did it. that little plug is guided in and only goes so far, I think you broke yours too, since it keeps turning like that. I didn't care too much because I installed an over sized rad.

Do all 04+ have this threaded plug on the radiator, or is this custom? I have an '08 and I've been wanting to drain the refill the coolant but I've been putting it off cause my old car was a real pain in the ass with no drain.

I looked on my 08 but I couldnt see anything.

I was able to get to it on my 06 without jacking the car up. I removed some of the bolts in the cover under the car and was able to reach up and in to it.

But yea. I'd say I hate it.
