How to replace control arm bushing?

Hi All,

Been having a ruff ride into work lately and my mechanic says it is because of worn bushings in the front. Needless to say, the quote was too high to have him do it.

Does anyone have instructions to replace the control arm bushings or even replacing the control arm itself (with new bushings of course)

Cheers

How much were you quoted? I need to replace mine on the passenger side. Probably easier to replace the whole control arm.

Just get dorman control arms from rock auto $70 a piece, undo the sway bar link, ball joint nut, and the front and rear bolts on it. Each side takes like 15min.

if the bushings aren't bad the job isn't that bad.

But if they are, the bolts might be too seized to the bushing sleeves to be able to easily remove them.

New sway bar links might be a good idea.

They're $4 a piece and can rot and snap.

15mins! I am not a mechanic :th_winking:

What tools would I need to do the job as efficiently as possible?

I know this is an old thread please don't jump on me about it.
