how to program 2008 grand prix gxp key fob

lost my keys and fob now i need to buy a fob and program it every one says you have to take the car to the dealer to program it but when i first got the car the used car dealer got me one from the dealer with out me taking the car in ?
 


I had to take my 04 into the dealer and thats what I've read everywhere. Also read something that said you could use the radio from an impala to do it? but who wants to deal with that. Dealer was free also
