how to get more sound out of s/c?

I've been watching some vid's of youtube. and in some the whine of the s/c is really noticable. I was just wondering what it was that makes the sound louder? I noticed when put on my intake it made a small difference. but nothing like some of the others I've heard. I'd love for mine to be that noticable!

(and i really hope this is in the right place, i tried!) :)

Well an intake is one way. You could go with a Gen V M90, they are reportedly much louder than the Gen III's. Or you could take your Gen III and close up the slits on it and that will make as loud if not louder than the Gen V.

When I go WOT i roll my window down, hang my head out the window and scream at the top of my lungs.
Guess a CAI would be better to go with!

I noticed a big difference after installing a ported Gen III. Some people at the track even came over and said it was really whining from the outside.

Be careful with closing the slits. If not done properly, you risk chunks of metal or epoxy breaking loose and damaging the rotors, valves, etc.

i closed my slits when i ported my case as well as tapping it for an alky nozzle. i cant wait to put it on and see how well it performs.

Bigger, better breathing/flowing intake will make any supercharger louder.

Smaller than stock pulley on the supercharger will change the tone as well.

Want to be REALLY obnoxious...two words for you, cogged belt. :th_thumb-up::th_thumb-up:

but the last I heard it wasnt ready yet.:th_scratchhead:

the cogged belt idea... i never heard off until you said it... i googled it lol. and from the few things i could find... it is'nt really used. and hurts your s/c. and right now i have the cheap cone from autozone. so i guess i'll get a bigger cone to see if it changes the sound any. and my pulley size is a 3.4 and i want to get a downpipe/Plogg before i consider dropping to a 3.2... and i wouldn't be surprised if there was a video of that! lol, i might check youtube.

Woah easy with the pulley sizes chief, with a downpipe/plog combo and that 3.4" you'll probably still be getting KR as it is, a 3.2" is waaay out of your league. For reference I'm still getting KR even with my mods (although I still have to tune it so we'll see).

well i decided to just save a little more and go headers. and since there's no dyno within about two hours of where i live. i cant cam... so maybe no 3.2?
