How to disable DRLs

Hey guys I was wondering if someone could help me out. I bought HIDs and I don't want them on during the day because it kills the ballasts. I bought the switch from ZZP to turn off the DRLs and it doesn't work and then I tried unplugging the plug from the DRL diode and they still won't go off so what else can I do to get them off. I want the auto headlights on at night so I'm not gonna pull the fuse. I have a 2001 GT. Any help I can get would be much appreciated.
