I used the Metra Axxess ASWC for my 05 GT w/monsoon and it works awesome and auto-programs (although you can also manual program).

You pretty much connect 4 wires and BAM!

1. Black to a ground.
2. Red to 12v accessory.
3. Orange/Green to FACTORY BLUE wire - (A6 on FACTORY harness) - have to splice into this.

4. Last step is to run a jumper wire from your 12v accessory to the PURPLE wire located right next to the BLUE Factory wire as stated above ^^

^^ and you also just plug the 3.5mm from the ASWC pack into your deck's allotted spot.

If your deck doesn't have a 3.5mm input for SteeringWheelControls (SWC), you will have to read its manual to find out which wires to splice the ASWC's brown-brown/white wires into.

Still very easy job. Difficulty rating - 2 out of 5.

Helps to know exactly what wires you need to use/connect from people like me who went through the experience of figuring it out! lol :P

The instruction manual may be confusing to some people.

Are you saying your steering wheel has no buttons or you are trying to get the buttons to work with your alpine?

Axxess was a super install.

I want to add steering wheel buttons to my car. as the car wasnt equipped with them, 2004 GT1.

Now i know why people wont reply here, they are all confused.
ill edit my first post.

Look in a Junk Yard for a GP with the wheel with the buttons, pull it, and the harness and get a service manual and find out where all the wires go and then get one of those Annex modules (or whatever its called) and wire it up...

or is this theory too simple, some mods seem simple and in reality are much more complex

Steering wheel buttons are a nice addition, but honestly how hard is it to reach over 6" and change the tune? :D

But then again, this was the theory I lived by until I bought my GT with the buttons. Now i use them all the time!

In fact, I have a remote for the alpine headunit which is pretty nice but I hate having around along with my cellphone and wallet its a mess.

Plus I like to keep my hands on the steering wheel rather then the remote.
I guess ill just keep my little remote.

Thanks for the replies guys.
