How much louder would it be (exhaust)



My car goes in tomorrow afternoon to get a glasspack welded on in place of the res.

I agree! Too bad the music to the ears whistle of the late 03 and early 04 Powerjokes only sounded so sweet becuase the turbos were s**t. But GOD they sound sooooooo sweeeeeeet, but junk though. :th_shakinghead1:

That thing sounds like a damned jet engine
 


Friend had a 7.3 with one 6" stack that we turned into a side pipe. That thing was sooooooo loud when it hit high idle in the winter. I would never own a 6slow.
 
Got the glass pack put on today. It might be just a touch louder than with the stock res. but not much if any. Just before I started it I got kinda nervous about how it would sound. To my relief, it is perfectly fine! The car actually seems to run better. Not sure if it might have something to do with them having the battery disconnected for a while or not? Maybe the stock res was plugged from rotting metal or something. Hell i don't know I'm happy, the welfare car sounding exhaust leak gone is satisfying enough! Happy with the price too, $60 parts and labor.
 


i loved the big glasspack i got from summit for $20. took a LOT of rasp out and made the exhaust more mellow, which i loved.
 
hurry up with the video. i'm getting a glass pack today, no res., headers and stock mufflers=too raspy.
 
whats the stock exhaust tubing size for a 2005 grand prix gt with 3.8 v6, i wanna replace the mufflers but dont know what size inlet/outlet to get.
