On the way to work this morning, the "Low Fuel" indicator on my dic came on just as I pulled into the parking lot.

How much gas have I got left in the tank to get home on?

How far did you drive?
How accurate is your gauge?
How far have you pushed it before?

I believe the one in the 97/98 Regals is programmed to come on when there is 1/8 of a tank left. This is about 100 miles according to the DIC for expected miles left.

While you probably have enough, remember the pump is probably not submerged when running this low and not being cooled when it's not submerged. This can lead to the pump heating up and shortening it's lifespan.

And yes..I run it from full to light or further all the time. Doing a pump is pretty cheap, easy and quick for me though.
 
you got some time... 60 miles when mine came on but that was highway driving at the time... i wouldnt wait too long, just as billboost said it can damage your fuel pump
 
Thanks for the tips, guys. I got about 25 miles to go before I can fill up tomorrow, (payday). So I should be alright.

Well, I made it! I gassed up this morning on the way to work, and put 16.05 gallons in a 17 gallon tank. That's close enough to running on fumes for me!

when the low fuel light comes on in my 06 it has 40-50 miles left worth of gas ive ran mine down to where i put almost 17 gal of gas in the car lol i was desperate couldnt call into work otherwise would of got wrote up and lost holiday pay :/
