How Many Miles on your 3.1 Engine and Transmission?

For those with the GP SE, I was curious how many miles you have gone with this engine and the 4T65E transmission? Obviously, the miles may be different.

I have 01 SE since new that is approaching 150,000 miles on the 3.1 with zero issues-no leaks, no oil consumption, and still getting great fuel mileage-25 mixed, 30-32 highway. Originally transmission with the typical hard shift codes at about 90,000 miles-completely solved with transgo shift kit and dual external coolers.

I have 152,000 miles on my 02 3.1. I bought it when it had 124,000 miles on it with a bad trans. There are a few things that have been abused on mine. The cooling system was complete rust water. I have flushed it several times. It is close to looking ok now. This is my 3rd vehicle with a 3.1. They tend to last quite a while and get good gas mileage, they just do not have the power the 3.8 has. There is a very noticeable difference in my 02 SE and 01 GT.

I had 2 totally stock 3.8 vehicles, 1 at the same time that I had the 3.1 GP-2004 Impala LS and a 98 GP GT. Yes they both had a little more power but the 2.5 inch Magna flow cat back dual system on my 01 SE has narrowed the power gap considerably. The power difference now isvery slight with a stock 3.8. The mileage advantage with the 3.1 in the city is considerable. Thanks for the feedback.

The 3.1 keeps up very well to a 3.8 when it's in the GA. Just saying.. I added stuff to put Dad in the rearview at one point. He was hanging with me too well.

Yes 97. And while it's not in my eyes a fun motor to work on. Likely that is because it was very tight in that GA body. Rear plugs and coil packs are via braille

228,000 on my 2000 Grand Prix SE on engine, body and trans the crazy part is that this thing hasn't had 4th since I can remember.

Talked to previous owner (Family Member) and said lost 4th at 160,000 and he was planning on replacing it as soon as the trans died, but it never died lol. Years later, I bought the car at 223,000 and still drive her back and fourth from Philly, PA to Blue Springs, MO with no worrys :)

That's what I was looking for. I have heard that the 3.1L was very durable like the 3.8. What has been replaced on the car-transmission, steering rack, crankshaft sensor, power steering pump, etc? Thanks.

03 Buick century 3.1 trans and motor has 210k replaced intake gasket at 200k and runs like new. Haven t had any serious problems other than hard shifts during stop and go driving but doesn't bother me.
