how many miles does your car have

Markpa what all have you had to do to it? i hope my car will get that far. i have been changing my oil every 2500 miles. changing the antifreeze every 20k, full tune ups when the book says and transmission fluid. soon I'm putting in my shift kit and transmission cooler to try to make it last. do you guys think also having a tuned pcm would help with the life of the trans?

Bought used w 110,000. Drove it for work. 35,000 a year. Lost 4th gear at 129,000. Rebuilt tran, and changed fluid and filter religiously every 35,000 never skipped a beat after that. Changed oil and used pure one filters every 7500 miles with a 50/50 mix of conv and synthetic. A wheel hub and an axle were the other repairs. Original shocks except replaced one front one with a junk yard one at 200,000. Was a great commuting car tires lasted 80,000-100,000 and brake pads 100,000 to 120,000. I used it till 280,000 and then the daughter used it. It developed a good oil leak at around 275,000 but never bothered to fix just leaked a quart in 3000 miles or so. I'm convinced if I would have kept driving it I would have broke 400,000 with it. Great car and daughter bought an 07 w 139,000 to replace it..

I just rolled over 100,000 this morning. I was kinda disappointed that I missed it turn over. I parked and it was showing 100,004 on the dash.

01 SSEI bonne 271k on original motor/trans ..spun lower rod bearing somewhere above 6200rpm. Donor trans/motor from regal with 104k ..currently 15k or so that setup. So just about 285k on the clock.

99 GTP, 217k, original motor and trans (sold)
99 GTP, 188k, original motor and trans (sold)
98 Intrigue, 211k on body, motor and trans both replaced at ~130k (sold)
04 LeSabre, 148k, original motor and trans (Dad's ride now)
00 Regal GS, 163k, original motor and trans (sold)
00 GTP, 150k, original motor, 2nd trans (about 12k since being built)

And my first car when I was 16... 95 LeSabre, Series 1 3800... original motor and 4T60E trans. Sold that just a few months ago actually. Spent almost a decade in the family.

So the common theme has been that the motors have all made it...

My wifes 00 GP SE has 187k on motor. Trans has about 27k since rebuild. Only issue is lifter tap. My dads 01 impala (gp underneath) has 195k.

2003 GT sold in September with 150,000>>> Replaced with 05 GT w/97,000 currently, (put 4000 on it since I got it.)

Suffering a little buyers remorse, but the 05 has every option but remote start. Lets hope I found a good one.
