• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

How many GPX prototypes were made?

Does anyone know the answer to this? I've seen photos of a white one or two and the maroon one. Either they had two different hoods, or there were different cars because one photo has what appears to be a "modern day" GTX hood where the tear drops are fairly long and the other appears to be different in that the tear drops are relatively short, in comparison.

I was also curious to see if anyone had any underhood shots other than the ones on the GP site listing all the different models available (and unavailable).

I may also contact the company that made the wheels for the car to see how many they produced for these.

pretty sure there was only one GPX made.

the wheels are also discontinued for quite some time. youll probably never find a set.

The wheels never went into production. I talked to the manufacturer of them quite some time ago and that was what I learned. The reason I mentioned it was because if they only ever produced 4 wheels, then it's a pretty fair assumption there was only one GPX. However, if they produced a dozen, then there could have been more cars.

I'm pretty sure there was more than one produced, unless it wasn't called a GPX, officially. I've seen photos of a white one, as I mentioned, and a maroon one. Both are shown here:

Sorry, guys. I thought that web site was old news to any of the GP guys. I've looked over those links and photos for several years, lusting after the effects of the GPX. If only those fenders and quarters were available for purchase.

Anyhow...

Back to the original question - notice the difference in intake ports? Hence my reason for asking how many were produced.

The complete kit, fender flares & bumpers are available through MPD. Check it out: MPD, Inc.

wow thats a badass car haha
I have actually always hated convertables until today haha I test drove a camaro conv, and it was fun as **** lol

The convertable has completely different flares than the gpx. Look at the bumpers you can see an insert made for the flares. If you look at the real prototyple 300gpx you can see the flare continure onto the door. There the convertable and mpd kit do not.
