I think you are misunderstanding what the RWD engine swaps are.... They are for existing RWD cars such as the RWD Regal, Monte Carlo, Cutlass, Camaro, Firebird, S10 etc and not meant for converting a fwd car.

Awwww, that's so disappointing. I have seen conversions done to make fwd cars into rwd or to awd.

I know in the DSM's people convert their fwd to awd's all the time, however, they do swap the tranny in of the awd model.
