How hard is it to use the HP Tuners?

So I'm thinking about getting the HP Tuner instead of buying a off the shelf PCM tune. Jw wondering how hard they are to use I know a buddy that bout a similar set-up for his WRX and did it in like 5min. The only reason I'm really thinking about getting one is becaus I think I'm gona use it for more than just my grand prix. Getting a GTO in the spring so I checked the list they said it can b used for both but just wondering if it's easy enough for someone that knows what he's doing like my buddy with the WRX and if it's worth it

ill move this to the tuning section...

to be honest the programs you'd use to tune a WRX are either an accesport, which is only a scanning/flashing tool or you use opensource tuning which would be similar to hptuners. i have opensource setup on my car and it allows you to access literally anything in the PCM and tweak it. it takes A LOT of time to learn how to do it correctly and its very easy to screw your car up if you dont know what youre doing.

Yea he said he used Cobb or something like that he was talking how he was thinking about doing open source but didn't do it for some reason idk. So If I can fond someone who knows what they r doing it would b a good idea... And I'm assuming my buddy doesn't lol

And sry wasn't paying attention to where I placed this thread

But sounds like the hp tune set up is ideal if you know what you r doing
