• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

How hard is it to figure this out!

Well hello everyone,
I have a few questions! Number one I hate the factory HU and its amazing 12 disc CD Changer because I have to listen to the last song on every CD because it doesnt have a CD change option! I have no credit card so I can purchase online I have a Best Buy, Future Shop and a walmart lol and I was hoping someone would know if I can still use my factory Bose and amp with a(n) aftermarket HU?? Also if I can still use my steering wheel controls, I feel nobody has the answers I am looking for also with that factory amp can I hook up subs into it? or even switch to better tweeters at some point if it would F**k it up or not??? I know I am asking alot but I just bought the car not even a week ago I just want to make it mine! So please get back to me with answers asap! Thank you

with a harness you can use it but will not get any of the power from the deck to the speakers. the cd changer will also stop working

you can get a wiring kit so the steering controls work with an aftermarket unit. you might have trouble with them sometimes they don't always work right.

You wont be able to keep the steering...but to keep the factory amp splice the pink wire with your ignition wire(red)

they do have kits for the steering controls i might get one later this year they do work but they are known to screw up sometimes. so theres a chance you can keep the steering controls.

I guarentee you can keep the steering wheel controls, just get this adapter: http://www.amazon.com/Metra-ASWC-Universal-Steering-Interface/dp/B0039H2W66

Works perfectly with my JVC AVX-640, very responsive as well unlike some similar adapters with lag...

The wiring is the only con, seems VERY confusing at first, until you stumble across this page: Axxess Interface - Steering Wheel Control

^That will ask for your car etc. and then you'll know exactly how to install it.

I always laugh when people get worried about steering wheel controls, there's a reason why any headunit that isn't complete crap (like Boss/cheap Sony/etc.) has some sort of steering wheel input, because you can ALWAYS find an adapter to retain or add them.

There is two plugs on the back of your stock radio harness. The smaller of the two with 4 wires? IIRC ( its been a while since I talked about this ) anyways there is a solid pink wire in the smaller plug. That is your cars amplifier power turn on wire. You wire up your HU with the wire harness adapter like normal and then you have your blue remote turn on wire from your HU... Connect that blue wire from your HU to the pink wire coming out of your dash for the Amp turn on. This will power your bose amp like normal and give you sound.
