How do I fix my door swinging open?

Is this is a common problem, my beretta did the same thing. The door just swings open and there is no catch or stop like the pass door. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm guessing there is something that has worn out, and can it be replaced. I forgot to mention it's a 92 grand prix se 2dr.

Does yur passenger door open correctly? Examine it, an see wats missing on the drivers door. Probably, the little roller, that rides on the door detent guide. It's on the top door hinge. The hinge is a one piece unit, so yu'll have to replace the whole upper hinge, or fabricate yur own fix.
 
Weld it shut and go Dukes of Hazard Style...lol...sorry I couldn't resist...wish I could offer some assistance but have no clue
 
My 93 Gp had the roller guide thing (forget what its called) break on me and it caused this. Once I replaced it, all was good. Had to get it through GM and it was pretty cheap
