how do i fill silencers

I'd be willing to bet my car is louder than yours...even with you blocking the ports.

My point here, is sooner or later you'll be on a non-frisbee sized pulley with quite a few mods wondering.... "Why is my car this loud?"

Downshifting, I've been mistaken for a police siren.
Can't press the pedal w/o gaining the attention of everyone w/in a 100 foot radius on the higway.
And my personal favorite..I got a ticket for left on a yellow after the cop heard the charger. Probably thought it was tires.

true statement, his SC is Fing loud.

wow im so glad i read this thread cause im graduating from a gt to a gtp next month. personally i dont like the sound of a sc, i like the sound of a turbo more. it reminds me of a fwd version of the grand national.

Oh boy...... :th_shakinghead2:

what? i do, i like the sound of a turbo more than a supercharger, and it does remind me of a later version of a grand national. its just my opinion you dont have to agree.

So if you hairdriers so much...why are you interested in filling the silencer ports?

Yes it does increase efficency and it will increase the whine. Their is a reason aftermarket s/c's don't have these silencer holes. They were put their to keep the noise down because its a 4 door family car.

as opposed to a paxton supercharger or an m90 vs an eaton? or do they all make the noise?

the noise you are hearing is the combination of the gears on the rotors being spun very fast and the air being sucked into the blower and being compressed. all superchargers make this whine, but most sound different in comparison to one another.

A few things...Paxton is a name brand and there are ton of different options there...what your looking for a is a centrifugal blower which is a gear driven "pump" like Nick said. You hear the bearings/gear/pulleys/etc. more than a roots style blower...and it isn't an M90 vs. and Eaton...because an M90 IS an Eaton...its either a 3rd or 5th generation M90 as well...at least for our cars.

i was considering it, i wasnt 100% serious about it cause i dont like the noise i just want the boost. im getting a gtp very shortly and i was told that it has a cam in it so if it has a nice sound to it i dont want the sound to be covered up by a whine.

@bluegtp91, bio248: i wouldve never thought that. i just learned something very knowledgable today! how cool is that, i wouldve never known facts like that.
