Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

How big is our solar system compared to others? Check this out!

I found this from here: The Largest Star In The Universe. (We are so small..) - Techdo.com - Tech Blog and Computer Forum

Compares our planets to others in the solar system. Earth is kinda small huh?

you know the argument we could make about the size of an atom, and the effect it can have......We can have a huge effect on the universe as a whole.... even if there is other life(i'm sure there is) there is no guarantee that it is intelligent, I mean it is sheer luck that we are technologically where we are today, If a few people throughout history had been more lazy, or died of the plague, or whatever we would still be reading by candlelight.....If we would even be reading

I heard that back in the day the USA had a vote and we were one vote away from having German be the national language. Dunno if its true or not though

Doubt it since we don't have a national language :).....Only a popular one

Not to sound to flippant here, but isn't English our National Language? Or is it just not written as so? Not like it matters cause in about 5-10 years Spanish will be it anyways :th_shakinghead1:

I don't believe that at all. A good idea, no matter how good or how far ahead of its time it was, would've eventually been thought up by someone else.

Look at jet engines, for example. You could say if someone hadn't had that great idea, we'd still be tooting around on prop-jobs and the space program probably would not have happened. But, at least three different nations were developing jet propulsion completely independently at the same time toward the end of WWII. So, there is a natural flow of technological advancement regardless of who furthers it.

A few exceptions to be noted are those like Albert Einstein, Steven Hawking, and their company in the greatest minds to ever appear in physics. It takes a different way of looking at things to come up with the proofs that they have. But, in time, we would've figured all of that out too, just like we'll figure everything out eventually.

As long as we don't destroy ourselves first.

Regarding the slide show, it just reminds me how cool space really is. The last slide is like OMFG.

This boy has some schoolins! :D

wow even if the Earth is slung into our small sun star we are SCREWED!! Let me not even think about the bigger ones.

Thats pretty cool for sure.

I have to agree that there has to be life somewhere else out there in space. We cannot be all alone here.

As for the "National Language" here in the USA, we have not voted on one making it official. Reasons why you still see signs in Spanish, and the usual "press 1 for English, and press 2 for Spanish." If and when we decide on a National Language...it will make life better for all. World wide language...never will happen in my lifetime.
