How are Grand Prix's in the Snow?

Hey everybody, I was just wondering what Grand Prix's are like in the snow. I live in an area where there is snow on the ground probably from December to March and I was curious about how they perform.

I am mainly talking about the 97-03 GT's with the 3800 engine.

really depends on tires.

if your tires arent well in snow it will drive like this: turn tires, still go straight.
 
I've never had problems with both GP's in the snow. The 02 GT was great and so was the 01 GTP.. but like everyone said make sure you have a decent quality tire.
 
Mine was fine in the snow/ice, but I also had good tires on the front. As long as you keep your speed down and dont do anything fast (slam on brakes, quick turns, etc.) then the cars do fine in snow.
 


Mine handles like my ford explorer. Like everyone else said it's all about the tires. Mine handles decent because I got one othe second best snow tires they make for my GP

They do really good IMO, this is based on 8 winters driving them. I think the key is they have a good weight to tire contact area ratio, and they are fairly aerodynamic. The aerodynamics helps with the cross winds. Keep a reasonable set of tires with proper inflation and you can almost plow with them.:th_winking:
　
 
Handling sucked with the oem tires, but never got me in trouble... except trying to go up icy hills. Those can't make the transmission happy.
 
They're okay but you can easily lose control.

When going through say half a foot of snow you can get into a four wheel drift or the rear end will just start floating off into space if your rear tires arent as good as your fronts.

ALWAYS PUT THE BEST TIRES IN THE REAR.

And never less than FOUR WINTER TIRES.

If you ignore those two rules and you WILL fishtail or you will die :)
 


There fine... 8 winters here, and not a problem. Just don't drive like you stole it, and you'll be good. It's usually the people that drive to fast or tailgate that cause the problems.
 
they SUCK, im sorry but its the worst car ive diven in the snow, with stock exhaust manifolds theres way to much low end torque and the traction control is a waste in the snow. so put it in drive or 1st and touch the pedal and its spinning and spinning until you melt the snow under your tires...too bad i like it so much...but then again i do live in a place where lake effect snow is a b**ch and its not uncommon to have 8in of snow on the road
 
as long as you gots some good tires and your not floorin it, youll be fine. i get the same winters you get and ive never had a problem
 
Compared to my last 2 cars, RWD ,V6+V8, Mercury Cougars, W bodies are pretty damn good.
Automatic traction control can be a little annoying sometimes. And I do miss being able to fishtail and drift on command, but W bodies are solid in snow.
Make sure to get 4 winter tires.
Studded tires, legal or not are awesome.

get some better tires....
