my gtp is running about 210 degrees should be running alot cooler had to disconnect the yellow wire on the temp sensor to make the fans run all the time because they only turned on low when the car got real hot just fixed intake gaskets and have 180 degree stat and still runs at 210 any one else have this problem its driving me nuts

did you bleed the coolent a few times to be sure there isnt air in there? have you tried a diff Tstat or check the Tstat? you can test it in a boiling pot of water.

Try an OEM thermostat. Yes, it's 195, but aftermarket t-stats do not operate like an OEM stat will and they're erratic, at best. If the temperature rides at 210, then I don't suspect air in the system.
Second, if running the cooling fans all the time doesn't keep it cooled off, then I'd guess a plugged radiator. What happens is that the cooling fins become corroded inside and the flow isn't enough and the amount of coolant in the fins isn't enough for the metal to dissipate the heat. You could also check the outside of the radiator to make sure it's not full of seeds, bugs, etc. Also check the condensor to see if the fins are smashed shut on it. It sits in front of the radiator and could cause reduced airflow, if this is the case.

I dunno what these guys ^^^^^ are talking about. You don't mention having a modded car or a modded pcm.
In traffic your car should run at 210F all day, everyday because that's what your fans are programmed to come on at low speed. Well.. more like 212-216F but who's getting technical.
Your 180 stat can't do it's job if there is no air to cool the car.

I agree that it might heat up a bit if sitting in traffic, but I guess I was assuming the 210 was under normal driving conditions driving down the road, since sitting in traffic wasn't mentioned. 210 is too warm under normal conditions and if it was mine, I'd also be looking for the cause of the problem.
He's in Ohio and we've not had warm weather yet, except for a few days a week or two ago when it got in the 90s for about a 2-3 day stretch. I'm also assuming he's talking about seeing 210 recently. Ambient temperature really shouldn't affect the cooling system ability to cool the engine, though, if the cooling system is up to par.
Is this the gauge temperature or the ECM temperature reading?
