Lights produce heat. Ever touched a light bulb in your house that's been on awhile? Same thing is happening here.
 
Halogen lights create heat, so if your lights are on a while they'll feel hot.

Your headlight is also obviously right by your engine bay, and if you felt heat radiating, it was more likely from your motor, not a headlight.
 
yeah i thought it was from the engine because then i felt the vents next to the headlight and they felt pretty hot too. but i shouldnt worry about anything?

Use the "Seach" button hidden way up on the top of the forum banner. Search for threads about people installing HID's. More than likely it will say which kit they are using or you can figure it out yourself. Look at a bunch of them and read what people say about them, see how they look to you and decide which one you want.

Ever heard of coolant and a radiator?

All the heat from the motor/trans and the whole cooling system vent out from the car where ever it can, and plus the headlights making heat, its always going to be warm.
