horn won't shut off

Well, I just replaced my I/P wiring harness in my 97SE. I went from a bone dry I/P to security, RKE, steering wheel controls and auto HVAC. I did that because I hated having all the spliced wires everywhere. I like it to be clean. Everything is working fine with the exception of the horn. It won't shut off. For now, I've pulled the fuse under the hood. Could this be a problem with my BCM? Yes, I did get the BCM for security and RKE. Or do I have something messed up in my steering wheel.

HUH?

I went from a bone dry... WTF does this all mean? and why were your wires all spliced?

What year/model harness did you swap with. Pinouts could have changed slightly from year to year and that might be the issue.

Bone dry means no options at all, not even RKE. I had spliced in the digital DIC, HUD, and RKE. I got the harness from a 97 so pins are the same.

Cool, thanks for the info.

IIRC the horn is a ground to the BCM. If you added wheel controls, maybe the horn isn't sitting properly in the wheel/airbag setup. I'd double check that and while it's apart, test the wire for that ground etc. If needed, pull the column connector and check if the horn wire is grounding in the column and then go from there. It's gonna probably be a trace all the way if your horn isn't improperly sitting in the wheel.

Well, I went ahead and re-attached the airbag making sure everything was out of the way. Now it works properly.
