horn doesn't work

so ive seen every thread on here. I hotwired the horn and it worked. I replaced the blown fuse. I checked the ground under the airbag and it looks fine. idk what to do.. please help. is there supposed to be a nut on this?

just came across something strange. when I was wiggling out the 4 prong fuse under the hood the horn went off. it happened when I tilted it upwards...

Well now you know the issue if from the b+ wire that activates the horn relay, from the steering wheel to the power distribution box. Did you ever see if that wire that's broken is the wire you're looking for? Check to make sure there's no voltage there then check resistance. Should get the resistance of a relay, if so solder it to where it should be. If not find the horn wire and make sure it's intact.

does your air bag have 2 wires coming out of it? one is the push in and turn to lock it in the whole. the other the black one has a clip in the end, it fits on the treads sticking out of the steering wheel.

the yellow wire in the middle is the air bag to clock spring, the other black wire next to the yellow wire is the radio controls.

that black wire looks wrong to me. (clipped to the air bag) you need two wires out of the air bag. the push in and turn one there thats power, not the ground.

at least on my car.

i bet if you take that wire off the air bag, the black one, and then ground it. the horn beeps. thats after you change the fuse again, cause that would explain the blown fuse.

yeah. that black wire that is clipped to the airbag goes in that hole and it feels like there is a spring attached to it cause I can pull on it and let go and it gets pulled back in. where do you think I should ground it?

some how i bet the horn button is bad or a bad contact in the air bag cover, it should come off with them clips on the 4 sides.

yeah. i would, take the wire off the bag, then ground it on the column. if it beeps the horn button or its contacts are bad.

come to think of it, my friends Chevy truck horn would work when it felt like, i took the air bag off and cleaned where the bag hit the column and the horn worked perfect again.

my horn hasnt worked in 6 years. I cleaned it and grounded it somewhere else. And nothing. fuse and relay are good

gremlins suck. sorry im out of ideas. you need some one with a multi tool that knows how to use it. shorts are easy to find if you know how to find them.

Had a similar problem like this in my 95 Buick. Ran a wire from battery to horn with an inline fuse. Then a ground with a push button, mounted between the steering wheel and radio.. Worked great
Sent from my Lumia 900 using Board Express

time to run that new wire all nice like. nice find.

so there must be a bad wire somewhere in the harness.

at least you can stop yelling out the window at morons on the road now lol
