So last night i bought a 97 gp gt. 131k, hud, leather, all the goods. guy claimed it was sittin for 4 months and may need a jump. i got there it was running great, so i bought it for $500 bucks cuz it has a crack in the tank and needs a brake line. so i pay the guyy tow truck comes takes the car 60 miles home. so bout an hour ago i get home finally real long day had a wake and ****. so i hoped in ready to christen it n smoke the first blunt, i started it up and the engine light came on and started flashing. so now im freekin out when i give it gas and the rpms come back down it drops from around 800 where it usually stays to like 4 and it seems like it wants to stall out the lights dim but i comes right back and the light starts blinking. WTF i need to get to school can ppl please help a newb
 


Flashing prolly means misfires.

change the plugs and wires.

and if any of the plugs are smashed, you're going to need a new engine soon.
 
the engine sounds normal tho. i didnt notice any sort of knock. i dont know ill be out there in the morning and get goin thanks for the info.
 
soo i pulled all the plugs and cleaned them up. started it up runs great now. brakes are gettin done tomarow so hopefully ill have time to make the registry and the prix will be on the road. lets hope my guy doesnt find any other problems:th_winking:
 


Hey Plymouth.. you aren't too far away.

Were the plugs dirty, wet or both? Sounds like a tune up is needed at the least. I'm questioning the wet, because...it's an NA motor.
