hooking up a boost gauge

Alright. So I got my boost gauge ready to go (wiring wont be a problem minus finding a good ground) and I need to know the best place to hook up the T. I have an area right on top of the SC that looks like a 3 way connection and has vaccuum lines coming out of two of the ports. However, the middle port is just capped. Can I just plug my line into this extra port??

Also, it is an 05 where is the easiest place to get it into the bay and to the gauge? Am I going to have to drill a hole in the firewall to accomplish this easily?

Thanks for the help guys

Going to the top of the SC is prerotors and all you'll get is vacuum. Best place to hook up is around back by the map sensor. This way it's out of the way and not ugly.

Alright thats what I was questioning thanks Bill! and advice on the firewall issue?? or how to get the line into the cockpit

You can run inside is a few different places like the throttle cable or trans shift cable areas, down by the power steering is the boot for most of the wiring into the cabin. I think there might be one on the driverside as well.

Or you could drill

Alright I will have to get under her when I have another chance and take a look any dangers to drilling?

Mine's an '05 as well, I ran the vacuum line against the firewall all the way to the driver's side strut tower. I then lifted up the seal strip for the hood where it meets the fender and there's a small gap there that a vacuum line will fit through. I took off the plastic cover for the windsheild wiper and ran it through there and down to the door and into the cabin. Lazy man's way I know, but It's working just fine for me and I've got it zipped tied out of everything's way to keep it from binding somehting up.

It doesnt kink anywhere along the way?? We were looking at doing it and were unsure if we could manage it without kinking or restricing the line. Trust me while we were busting our brains that came to mind. Do you happen to have a picture of how it looks in the engine bay where its running?

Did you know you do not even need to open the hood to install a boost gauge? There is a vacuum line inside the car interior that can be used.
It is the hose that goes to the vacuum resivour for the HVAC system, and you can "t" into it jsut before the check valve that goes into the vacuum resivour.
It is located on the passanger side footweel.

That would be the same as 't'ing in at the top circle in the pic
